Natalia Molebatsi’s first published work as a poet reveals a writer and social activist with a keen awareness of her important role in the global society where women’s rights and identities are often not only questioned, but at times rubbished. She speaks of mothers, children, war, Palestine, Italy, peace, Africa, love and tears and motherhood and sisterhood. Molebatsi is a writer who is busy working her way into the history books of South Africa poetry history.

Molebatsi’s work can be found in many other journals and publications; such as Letter to South Africa: Poets Calling the State to Order, Happiness the Delight-Tree: An Anthology of Contemporary International Poetry, New Coin, and the Anthology of World Poetry (2010), among others. Sardo Dance is Molebatsi’s debut work as a poet. Her poetry stands tall in this collection and her words are as poignant as they are brilliant.

She writes about the important political questions, liberation of women, the rise of international politics and the validity of women’s voice in all of this. She exalts feminist ideals and reimagines the world where women and children are the centre of everything. Natalia Molebatsi is a South African writer, performance poet and cultural worker. She has developed a large following through her poetry salons, and is credited with having “been responsible for introducing the work of Alice Walker and Toni Morrison to the post-apartheid generation in South Africa. She lives in Johannesburg.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row]
